“Beau” and "Remi"

I painted "Remi" to enter into the National Watercolor Society and Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour 2024 International Exchange Exhibition. She was accepted and later purchased by her great grandmother as a gift for her grandfather. When he was old enough, her grandfather commissioned me to paint her younger brother, Beau, as a companion piece. "Remi" has so many wonderful watercolor qualities and I was not sure I could paint a companion that could match her. I chose to paint a very different pose, but with similar lighting, and I think ended up with a beautifully complimentary pair.
